We’re South Carolina Spray Foam Insulation, a family-owned company, and we’ve spent more than 15 years insulating homes and commercial buildings across Greenville and the rest of the Upstate. We’re insulation contractors, not a lead-generation site, and everything on these pages comes out of the work we actually do.
We built this site because most insulation advice online is written for a national audience and misses what drives decisions here. Greenville sits in IECC Climate Zone 3A — humid subtropical — in the Piedmont, up against the foothills of the Blue Ridge. From late spring through early fall, outdoor air along the I-85 corridor carries real moisture, and the red-clay soil under most of the Upstate releases dampness steadily into crawl spaces and against foundation walls. In this climate, insulation is never just about energy bills — it’s about controlling the moisture that rides in with the air.
Who We Are
A family-owned insulation company, 15-plus years in the same trade. The family runs South Carolina Spray Foam Insulation today, and the services are the ones we perform every week: open-cell spray foam, closed-cell spray foam, air sealing, vapor and moisture barriers, crawl space insulation, new-construction insulation, and insulation testing and evaluation. That’s the whole list — we don’t sell turnkey encapsulation packages, and if your project needs work outside that scope, we’ll tell you straight.
Who We Serve
We work with residential and commercial clients across the Upstate — Greenville first, then Spartanburg, Anderson, Greer, Seneca, Rock Hill, Mauldin, Taylors, Easley, Simpsonville, and Clemson. That includes:

What This Site Covers
Every page is written for the Upstate specifically — Zone 3A humidity, Piedmont red clay, and the housing stock we actually work on. You’ll find plain explanations of our services, when open-cell makes sense versus closed-cell, why vented crawl spaces fail in this climate, and how air sealing and a vapor barrier work together with foam as one envelope.
On pricing: we quote per board foot — one square foot of coverage at one inch thick — so the total depends on the thickness applied and the square footage covered. Open-cell runs $1.00 to $1.60 per board foot installed, and closed-cell runs $1.60 to $2.60. Two inches of closed-cell costs roughly double the single-inch rate before any prep or removal. Access and existing conditions move the final number, which is why we quote only after an on-site evaluation, never sight unseen.
Duke Energy serves most of the Upstate and offers rebates for qualifying insulation and air-sealing work. Amounts vary by measure and change periodically, so confirm current amounts before you schedule — we’ll point you toward the right program during your estimate. On the federal side: the 25C energy-efficiency tax credit expired December 31, 2025, and no federal insulation tax credit currently applies. Any contractor still promising one is behind on the news.
